bugster

Adversarial intelligence,
generated on purpose.

Bugster is an agentic adversarial-intelligence platform. It adopts the perspectives of those who would see an organisation fail — competitors, attackers, structural forces, hostile narratives — probes every surface, and continuously generates new lines of attack to surface the vulnerabilities you are least inclined to examine.

01The discipline

A second mind whose only assignment is how this fails.

Most analysis is built to defend a conclusion. Bugster is built to attack one — methodically, from every vantage that has reason to.

Adaptive

It reframes the problem continuously. When a line of inquiry is exhausted it corrects for its own assumptions — including those introduced by how the question was first posed — and generates the next.

Creative

It synthesises adversaries that wouldn’t occur to you — a rival’s recruiter, a structural trend, a hostile narrative — and reasons from their incentives rather than your own.

Relentless

It doesn’t stop at the obvious. It compounds findings, traces second- and third-order effects, and keeps probing long after an internal review would have concluded.

02Adopt an adversary

Choose a vantage. Read the brief it builds.

A worked example against an illustrative subject, Meridian Coffee Co. Each vantage reasons from its own incentives; the platform keeps generating new lines well past the three shown.

If I were competing with Meridian, I wouldn’t fight on coffee quality — I’d compete on convenience, then recruit the one person whose craft makes their product worth the premium.

Convenience-led displacementhigh

Drive-thrus sited beside the six highest-volume stores erode the morning daypart, where most of the margin concentrates.

02
Positional, not structural, loyaltyhigh

The loyalty programme rewards proximity, not preference. A short price campaign peels customers who were near, never loyal.

03
Single-point differentiationcritical

The signature blend lives with one roaster. Recruiting them transfers the differentiator off the balance sheet.

03Why it exists

Adversarial truth is the hardest to generate and the easiest to avoid.

Organisations are structurally — and often intellectually — disinclined to dwell on how they fail. Bugster generates that truth deliberately. By researching hostile perspectives in depth, it surfaces weaknesses while they are still inexpensive to address, and, just as often, reaches insights no internal review would arrive at on its own.

The value isn't pessimism. It is the fresh vantage — the considered case against you — that good judgement needs and rarely gets.
